Discover Encinitas Real Estate - Encinitas Homes for Sale

ENCINITAS Cardiff-By-The-Sea, Leucadia & Olivenhain

Nestled between Carlsbad to the North and Solana Beach to the South you´ll find these communities.  They are a mixture of older and newer homes and quickly becoming more upscale.

Map of Encinitas, CA

The homes along the cliffs boast a tremendous view of the Pacific Ocean - the majority of the other areas, do not have the ocean view.  There are some routes to get to the beach but you will usually need to get to a more level area of town to gain access.  Many of the homes in this area had been beach homes/secondary homes years ago and have the rural feeling - no curbs or sidewalks.

Mira Costa Community College - Encinitas, is a satellite campus offering many types of classes and activities and is a nice commodity for the town.

The original part of Encinitas is laid out on a grid pattern and located near Moonlight State Beach.  Stores, Civic Buildings, Post Office, Hospital, Antique Shops, Restaurants, Library all found with curbs and sidewalks makeing-up a quaint part of town.  Cardiff-By-The-Sea is a charming area.  It is just to the East of the Ocean, bordered by a rail line.  The beach area is called San Elijo State Beach.  Many of the cottages and homes are over a half-century old, but usually well maintained.  The streets are named after famous composers i.e. Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Rossini, Verdi.  Shopping conveniences are located on nearby El Camino Real.

East of the main road, El Camino Real, you´ll find more modern and upscale tracts of 4-5 bedroom homes.  Homes are well manicured and some have wonderful views of the setting sun.  Olivenhain, is just a bit further East.  There are some historic buildings and old farm houses.  However, you´ll find some of the most opulent homes as it borders the richest town in the United States, Rancho Santa Fe.  Golf Courses, horse property, ranchettes (small lots and larger acreage) along with huge estates.  The Coaster rail commuter service runs along Encinitas - making it easier to commute to Downtown San Diego or Orange and Los Angeles Counties.  Multiple parks, beaches, trails, YMCA, museum, botanical garden and miles of coastline.
